Endorse - My New Favorite App

Recently I found out about Endorse, a cash back phone app.

Endorse offers cash back offers to earn anywhere from 10%-100% cash back on items you already purchase.  There is a free mobile app for android and iphone users.  It offers personalized offers by suggesting to them what kinds of products you already normally purchase.

To start redeeming offers, download the Endorse app to your phone.  Each week, they offer a select amount of cash back offers.  You can upgrade some of the offers to a higher percentage cash back rate when you share the deal with friends.  Please read the fine print for each offer - some offer a dollar amount limit, some offer a quantity limit and still some offer a combination of the two.  When you are ready to redeem an offer, simple click on upload receipt, take a picture of your receipt (if you have a long receipt you will need to take pictures by adding segments to your receipt making sure that you include the top and bottom corners of the receipts and that the amounts are readable), then select the offers you are redeeming on that receipt (you can only redeem the offers once, so make sure you have the same items on one receipt), when you are finished click done and your receipt will upload and will be processed and that is it.  In a few days you will notice that your cash back offer was either approved of there denied.  Please remember that you need to upload your receipt no later then six days after you make your purchases or your receipt will be denied.

The first day I learned about the Endorse app on December 19, 2012, I made a purchase to try it out.  I purchase two Pop Chips 3 oz. bags for $2.79 each.  I believe the offer was for 20% cash back with a limit of 10.  I made my purchase, uploaded my receipt that day and a few days later received a confirmation that I had earned $1.00 cash back and 5 points in my account.

The second offer I redeemed was from our shopping for our Christmas dinner on December 24, 2012.  I redeemed the 50% cash back your holiday ham, 50% cash back on Mountain Dew and 10% cash back on any ice cream.  I made my purchase, uploaded my receipt the same day and a few days later received a confirmation that I had earned $12.00 cash back and 5 points.

The third offer I redeemed yesterday was for 10% cash back on any brand toothpaste and 50% cash back on any champagne or beer.  I made my purchase, uploaded my receipt the same day and today my cash back says that it is processing with status pending.
My purchases:
2 Lay's Salt & Vinegar Chips $3.00 x 2 = $6.00 (in-store special)
1 Cough Medicine $3.49
2 Crest Tarter Gel toothpaste $2.50 x 2 = $5.00 (in-store special)
2 Kit Kat & 1 Watchamacallit $1.98 (in-store special)
1 Sour Punch Blue $.79
1 5-pk Cushioned Envelopes $2.59
2 Corona Extra 6-pk Beer $8.49 x 2 = $16.98
Total: $37.46
Projected Endorse Cash Back: $8.99
Total after projected Endorse cash back: $28.47 ($8.49 for a 12-pk Corona Extra long neck bottles which is better then the sale that is going on for $10.99 for a 12-pk Corona Extra long neck bottles.)

The fourth offer I redeemed today was for 10% cash back on any fast food ($2.00 limit).  I uploaded our receipt from Taco Bell for $26.29 (10% military discount already included) the other night.  Right now, my transaction says converting picture to receipt, processing and status pending.

One of my 2013 New Years Resolutions is to utilize my Endorse app on my phone to help us save even more money on things we already purchase.  I already use traditional paper coupons, ecoupons on the deca commissary savings card and other grocery store loyalty cards, cash back websites when I shop online and now this Endorse app will help us to save even more money.  I love saving money on things we already buy because it puts more money back in our pockets.  Endorse will definitely be able to help us achieve our savings goals for the rest of this year and moving forward into 2013.  I recommend Endorse to my any of our friends who wants to put money back in their pockets.

My Cleaning Spree

Since before 2012 started, I have been on a cleaning spree.  While our youngest is on Winter Break, I thought it would be a great time to clean and reorganize our home for a fresh start to our New Year.  I clean because I like to clean and I like to have our home clean.  Until our youngest goes back to school, I'll see how much more I can get knocked off my list preferably before Chinese New Years on January 23, 2012.

I have knocked the following off my to do list:
1. Reorganized the entryway closet
2. Put all the linens in one cabinet and organized them
3. Reorganized the overflow area
4. Cleaned and reorganized master bedroom closet
5. Organized my Independent Consultant Business Materials, Supplies and Stock On Hand
6. Steam cleaned our carpets
7. Assembled our Ikea shelf
8. Combined all of my art supplies on our Ikea shelf
9. Organized part of my crafts
10. Weeded out our container gardens and trimmed dead stuff

My Still To Do List:

1. Organize the rest of my crafts in nice matching bins, containers or baskets
2. Find a better way to organize under our bathroom sinks
3. Clean and reorganize the other half of the garage
4. Clean and reorganize our bookshelf
5. Organize our cleaning supplies area
6. Clean out our entryway shelf
7. Clean off our coat rack
8. Somehow reorganize our kids' closets to make it look more organized
9. Weed out our kids' closets

iCarly Premier

Our youngest boy loves watching iCarly episodes, often times we watch them together.

On Monday, January 9, 2012 we took our youngest to the iCarly Premier at the Bob Hope Theater on MCAS Miramar Base as part of the Joining Forces Program supported by Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden.  We left home at 4:00pm to stand in line for about an hour before we even found out if we were able to get a wrist band for preferred seating.  Around 5:00pm, the theater staff handing out the wrist bands were coming around and we were not sure at that point if we would make it before the first one thousand.  We met a nice woman named Julia who stood in front of us with her four kids.  We got to talking and I told her that she looked really familiar to me.  We found out we lived in the same housing area, had the same Walmart in common and eventually I found out that she looked familiar to me because I see her walking around the neighborhood when school is in session.

 Standing Patiently In Line

To our positive thinking we made it and received our wrist bands.  The line started moving up to the front as the doors opened and we finally made it into the movie theater about 5:45pm.  We had our restroom breaks first and my husband and our youngest sat and waited until the iCarly cast came out on stage to introduce their new episode that featured Mrs. Obama.  By the time I got back from my bathroom break and gotten through the line at the concession, the episode was just getting started.  My husband said he got some pictures but they were too far.  At that point, we watched and enjoyed the episode together!

To my delight, the iCarly cast came back out on stage for questions from the Master of Ceremonies.  While they were asking the cast questions, almost everyone made their way up to the front of the stage to get their up close pictures of the cast and I was no exception.  I got a few good pictures for our son and came back to my seat and enjoyed the rest of the question and answer portion of the show prior until our departure from the theater.  Upon departure from the theater, the theater staff gave everyone a free iCarly bag.

The iCarly cast clearly wanted to give back to the military community and more importantly wanted to say Thank You to military service members and their families.  My video is blurry because we were sitting toward the back of the theater but the message is clear.

Our Adventure to Pacific Beach, California

This past Saturday was a bit of an overcast, windy day when we headed over to see what Pacific Beach had to offer.  I had previously heard from a few sources that the Pacific Beach Boardwalk was worth checking out, so this was the perfect time to go on an adventure together.  When we arrived, amazingly we immediately found a free parking stall on Garnet Street good for two hours.  At the end of Garnet Street is Crystal Pier.

We were walking along the boardwalk and decided to check out the waves.  The best place to do it was up close and personal, so we went down on the beach.  There were a few others on the beach, some surfers catching the great waves and some kids digging with their shovels.  We walked mostly on the beach and on the way back we walked on the Boardwalk.  The Boardwalk was full of people strolling and taking it all in and there were quite a bit of bicycle riders.

Here are a few photos we got of our day at the beach.

While there, we saw the shops that line the Boardwalk.  The Pacific Beach Boardwalk was cement different then the wooden Boardwalks in Ocean City, Maryland and Atlantic City, New Jersey that we had previously visited.  The concept is the same ~ a beach community with a Boardwalk lined with small shops catered more toward tourists and restaurants to suit all tastes and flavors.

We decided that we wanted to finally try Joe's Crab Shack.  We had seen them all over but never got around to actually trying them out until now.  It was casual dining complete with bibs to protect your clothing from flying crab meat and dripping butter. We did not use them of course. After our hostess and server explained to us how things work and talked about a few dishes, we sat their pondering on what we wanted to try.  We decided to try the Classic Crab Pot while our youngest had the chicken fingers meal.  Our meals were so delicious, we had to get a picture of it.

This was the view from our table.

Our meals were delicious and we were really full when we left.  After we ate lunch, our free two hour parking was up.  While walking to our car, we saw hula hoopers toward Garnet Street.

Our adventure was complete, our stomach's were full and we were tired when we got home.  That is a sure sign that all had a great adventure.

In December 2011, we checked out part of Garnet Street.  Garnet Street is full of life, restaurants and shops.  People are out and about living their lives.

Pacific Beach is definitely worth taking another adventure to.
