Honoring Our Veteran's on Veteran's Day 2010

A HUGE shout out goes to all military service members for your service in defending our great nation.  We appreciate you, your service and your and your families sacrifices.

Honoring our Veteran's, retirees and Active Duty Service members on Veteran's Day is very important because supporting our service members is something that all American's should be doing, no matter if they agree with the politics of it or not.  Area businesses are honoring them and here are a few of them.

Colonial Williamsburg offers free admission passes to active duty military, guard and reservists, retirees, veterans, and their dependents Nov. 1-14. The Honoring Service to America pass includes admission to Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area and museums. The pass also includes an Orientation Walk, a viewing of “Williamsburg, The Story of a Patriot,” free shuttle bus service, and parking at the Visitor Center.

The service member need not be present, and free passes will be provided to immediate family members of currently deployed troops with appropriate identification. Military veterans who separated before retirement can bring a copy of their honorable discharge paperwork, DD Form 214, as identification of service.

These tickets are available only at Colonial Williamsburg on-site ticket sales windows. 


4. Golden Corral is honoring Veteran's with their 10th annual Military Appreciation Monday on Monday, November 15, 2010.  Veterans and Active Duty Service Members will receive a free dinner buffet and free drink.  Details here.

5. Home Depot offers a military discount every day of the year with valid military id.

6. Lowe's Home Improvement offers a military discount every day of the year with valid military id.

7. McCormick & Schmick's is holding their 12th annual Veteran's Appreciation Event on Sunday, November 7, 2010.  Veteran's will receive a free entree from a special menu.  Spaces limited, reservations encouraged.  Details here.

9. Outback Steakhouse is offering Veteran's and Active Duty Service Members a free bloomin' onion and non alcoholic beverage on Thursday, November 11, 2010.
